Having worked in the financial industry as a Certified Public Accountant for over 15 years, I saw first-hand ALL the ways money impacted individuals, couples, families, profit and non-profit businesses.
SO many “successful” clients struggled with saving money to pay the IRS during tax time, having cashflow to pay the owners a salary or a draw, or having the assets to distribute to beneficiaries of a family estate. Those who lived in my city “on the hill, in the biggest home” worked hard like everyone else, spent more than most, and yet felt like they sucked at “doing” money.
Why do I share this?
Because money blocks happen at all levels to all of us.
You certainly could have grown up in poverty and had issues around money. Or witnessed your parents own a business that allowed the finances to flow, but caused their health and well-being to suffer. Or maybe you saw your family fight about money. Or you knew “wealthy” people like the clients I mentioned above, yet didn’t know they lived paycheck-to-paycheck and constantly worried about debt collectors exposing their unstable financial lifestyle.
The reality is money is deemed so important in life, yet it’s taboo to have a conversation about it.
So your beliefs, emotions, behaviors, habits, and outcomes are all impacted because you learn from watching others. Or others’ tell you how to “do” money their way.
And it doesn’t work for you.
This creates self-sabotaging behaviors that hold you back from making and receiving money your way, based on who you are.
